6.3. “Latest posts and threads”

“Latest posts”-list

The “latest posts and threads”-lists you might find at the top of the index page and of selected forums, represent the third section of the thread list.

Those sections are always sorted by the date of the last post in each thread, regardless of the filter and sorting options you might have chosen for the remainder of the thread list. Additionally, each “latest posts”-list can contain threads from a wide range of forums, that will be combined into a single list, thus allowing you to keep track of what’s new in the forums at all times.

List

The “latest posts and threads”-lists can be displayed in two ways:

  • The “detailed” design resembles the usual thread list, but it will display the parent forum of a thread as well as the name of the author and the date of the first post below the topic of each thread. The display of the columns that contain the number of replies and views of a thread and the thread rating can be toggled on or off by the administrator.

  • The “narrow” design has no table head and generally trys to save as much room as possible. Using this layout, the parent forum of the threads will be displayed at the very right end of the list, while the date of the last post is displayed as a simple icon () next to the topic of each thread; you have to move the cursor of your mouse across the icon to view the date. This design contains no information about the number of replies and views of a thread, but the display of the thread rating can be toggled on or off by the administrator.
